The Westminster Youth Ministries seek to build relationships with students, lead them to a deeper
knowledge of God, train them as disciples of Jesus Christ and compel them to serve the kingdom.

Building Relationships

We have a number of activities for the youth that are designed to promote fellowship and to help build lasting friendships. These activities are the perfect place to introduce new people to the youth group and to get to know one another better.

On a yearly basis, we engage in activities ranging from ultimate Frisbee to a New Year’s Eve Overnight party. Keep checking on our calendar to see what Youth events we have coming up.

Knowing God

We offer many different opportunities for fellowship and the chance to grow closer to God. These are great opportunities to ask questions you may have, develop closer relationships with friends, and delve deeper into God’s Word.

We have Sunday school for Junior and Senior High on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m.

Every Wednesday night at the church, we have Salt and Light. Sixth through 12th grade is welcome. This is a time of games, bible study, and prayer.

Training Disciples

Discipleship groups, or D-groups as we like to call them, is our small group discipleship program.  Throughout the school year, we meet in small groups according to age and gender.  For example, the seventh grade girls group.  These groups stay together, with the same leader, for all of their junior and senior high school years.

We meet Sunday nights after the evening service for a small meal or snack together, and then we break into our D-groups.  We share current struggles together; we keep each other accountable for our devotions and spiritual life, we study the Bible together, and we pray together.

D-groups, perhaps the most important thing we do as a youth group, aim to train our young adults as disciples of Christ while also teaching them how to serve each other and how to keep each other accountable for spiritual growth.  We also hope that through our discipleship program these young adults will form life-long friendships and accountability partners.

Serving the Kingdom

God has equipped us all with gifts with which we are to serve His people, and it is our desire to see our youth do just that.

Our ultimate goal for ministry to the youth is to see them use their gifts to serve God’s kingdom.  We aim to achieve this goal by young people to learn what gifts they do have and giving them opportunities to use those gifts.

In addition to serving with local community organizations such as the Muncie Mission and the Bread Basket, we encourage our youth to participate in various ministries to their own youth group and church in general. Some of our youth are actively involved in the organization and planning of our various youth activities, some are involved in our regular Sunday worship services, and many are involved in various other ways.
