Here at Westminster we have several different activities and programs geared towards children. These activities and programs are designed to be fun, entertaining, and bring the children to have a greater knowledge of God.
Although what we offer changes from time to time, We have the following:
Nursery (Ages 0-2)
We utilize staff and volunteers to provide a safe and engaging environment for the younger children to stay in during events and activities they might not be old enough to enjoy. Nursery service is available during some of the following activities: the congregational dinner, the congregational meeting, some missions conference weekend events, the spring retreat, choir practices, Salt & Light, Youth Ultimate Frisbee (over the summer), some D-group meetings, VBS pretreating and wrap up meetings, and other special meetings and events as needed.
Sunday School (Ages 2-6th Grade)
Children’s Sunday school takes place on Sunday morning during the time that Adult Sunday School is held. We have classes for all ages from 2 up to 6th grade. Our classes are taught by volunteer teachers and helpers from our congregation. Our Sunday School time opens with “Opening Exercises” – a time of worship and singing that allows the children to raise a joyful noise to the Lord. Our Sunday School classes are overseen by the Christian Education committee.
Vacation Bible School
Our VBS program is held over a week long period in the summer and is staffed completely by volunteers. We have recreation, music, skits, prayer, craft time, and learning about Jesus. More information on our VBS program will become available closer to its scheduled dates.
